LOAN DEFERMENT

The Commission can certify the full-time nature of graduate fellowships on the deferment form of the loaning institution. Grantees should verify in advance that the loan in question can be deferred for full-time research or a full-time fellowship and not only for students enrolled as full-time students in a university program. IIE also provides some information about loan deferments.

During the grant period, the Commission will take care of loan deferment forms. If you are in Madrid, stop by the Commission to have it signed. If you are outside of Madrid, scan the form and email  it, with your information already filled out, to your main contact at the Commission, who will sign it and scan and send it back to you.
