In preparation for your arrival, we have put together this website to answer most of your predeparture questions and provide you with a good deal of information that will be useful during your transition to life in Spain. We know it is a lot of information so we strongly recommend focusing on the aspects that will affect your arrival in Spain.

The U.S. – Spain Fulbright Commission
Throughout the Fulbright Grant, you will be in contact with two different entities:
Institute of International Education (IIE)
Located in the United States
- IIE Portal documentation
- Degree Verification
- Medical Clearance
- Optional predeparture TESOL Course
- Non-Competitive Elegibility (NCE) & Completion Certificates
U.S.-Spain Fulbright Commission (the Commission)
Located in Madrid, Spain 
- Fulbright.es Portal documentation
- Visa Process
- Grant Activities and Expectations
- Host Community/Institution(s)
- Cultural Adjustment
Some paperwork will only be handled in the U.S. by IIE, and other processes must be handled in Spain by the Commission. Some documents must be submitted to both institutions. Please note that neither the Commission nor IIE can provide specific details on issues handled by the other institution. You will have a Main Contact at each institution and can see above which issues are handled by each entity.
